Rated 4.6 stars across 86 reviews, Hopkins Elks Lodge #2221 has earned its reputation the old-fashioned way: by actually showing up. When a formerly homeless veteran in the area moved into new housing, Lodge volunteers arrived at his door with a full starter kit, everything he needed to begin again. That is not a press release. That is Tuesday for this Lodge.

The building at 30 8th Ave S doubles as one of Hopkins's most reliable gathering spots. The bar has the relaxed, everyone-knows-your-name energy of a classic neighborhood tavern, and the Gathering Room is a go-to for motorcycle clubs, holiday parties, and civic events that need a proper space without a hotel price tag. The pizza draws its own loyal following.

Elks Lodge #2221 is a chapter of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, a fraternal organization founded in 1868 with a long record of veteran support, youth scholarships, and community giving. The Hopkins chapter carries that mission forward with local volunteers who put in real hours for real neighbors.

What We Offer

The Lodge offers a full bar and kitchen open to members and their guests, with pizza that regulars consistently call a highlight. Whether you stop in for a quiet drink after work or stay for a full evening with friends, the atmosphere leans comfortable and unpretentious.

The Gathering Room is available for private events including holiday parties, club meetings, reunions, and civic fundraisers. It seats groups comfortably and comes without the fuss of a commercial venue rental. Groups from motorcycle clubs to nonprofit boards have made it their annual home.

Membership in BPOE Lodge #2221 unlocks access to the bar, events calendar, and volunteer programs, including veteran outreach, youth scholarships, and community assistance drives. Membership applications are open to U.S. citizens who believe in God, and the process is straightforward for anyone interested in joining.

"I find myself infrequently in this location once a year for a holiday party for my motorcycle club. I like the nice environment and the offerings of their group Gathering Room is nice and adequate and a on-site bartender for those that choose to have adult beverages or other elixirs alcohol or alcohol-free . . ."

"If I could give this organization 10 stars, I would. Today volunteers from this Lodge brought my brother, a former homeless Vet in new found housing, a home "starter" kit. He was stunned. He phoned me & started to cry (extremely unusual for him), he was so moved. This act of kindness was more appreciated then they will ever know. He told me, in typical Vet fashion, I have nothing, but need to give back to them. Pretty sure they'll have a new volunteer. This is definitely a group that deserves all the support they can get. Embarrassed to say I knew very little about them until now. Very under the radar. If their food, bar drinks, & prices are anything like the overall base, bet all is outstanding. Thank you again!"

"Tommy is one of the best bartenders that I have ever encountered. He is respectful. The place is always cleaned oh, and they have different functions sometimes every week. They definitely love the Vikings there. And their drinks are around the same price as the other bars there in Hopkins. Good location for walking around in seeing other shops."

"Great experience here every time. Their fish fry is delicious and all you can eat price is hard to beat. Love the low key atmosphere. Great service. Pull-tabs and separate bar."

Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
